The department of English at College of Science and Humanities at Aflaj offers 4-year BA program in English language. The department was officially established in the first semester of the academic year 1431/ 1432 H. The department of English caters to the students’ needs of advanced language, translation, literature and communication skills. The department grants Bachelor Degree in English language with total credit hours of 136. The department has two sections: males and females. The department of English also fulfils the needs of other programs in the college. Language skills are essential not only for teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) but also in meeting the labor market demands. In order to fulfill the Kingdom’s 2030 vision objectives and open new avenues of career opportunities, the department of English has recently modified its BA study program and has added a new variety of courses on language, translation and literature. This will encourage our graduates to take up careers like teaching English at schools, professional (freelancing) English translation and interpretation, and English language-using industries, such as journalism, advertising, administration, marketing, business and so forth. Our faculty members are well qualified and are known for their professional excellence. They possess extraordinary skills and show comprehensive dedication to teach at all levels, enhancing students’ critical thinking skills and imaginative capabilities. They provide teaching services, by using research-based interactive and communicative teaching techniques.
