The Department of Islamic Studies is one of the academic departments under the College of Sciences and Humanities in Aflaj. Since its establishment, the Department of Islamic Studies has worked in harmony with the needs of higher education in Saudi Arabia, and has remained consistent with both the college and the university policies, placing great emphasis on the enhancement of Islamic culture and the moderate understanding of Islamic meanings.
The Department of Islamic Studies aims to equip students with all the Shari'ah studies to be specialized in them to contribute in the advancement of society and the Islamic Ummah. There is one bachelor's degree program in Islamic Studies that teaches several courses such as the Interpretation of The Qur'an, the Hadith, the Islamic creed and the Islamic Jurisprudence and its Principles. The Department also teaches several general courses such as Islamic Culture courses to all college students, as University requirements.
