Introduction with Unit:
The university library is a scientific and cultural institution that plays a prominent role in the development of society. And by developing a science researches and providing effective services to those in charge of it, and according to the digital developments we witness today, it has become necessary to adjust library to the nowadays changes. After it was just a storage of books, today her functions are collecting, classifying, indexing, analyzing, presenting and publishing books for the benefit of people who needs the information. The library is also unique in books with references on various topics so that knowledge seekers, students and educational and administrative staff are able to review, read or borrow them.
Vision
The library provides leading services to users: technical operations, reference and guidance. To be a scientific, university library needs to offer information and communication technologies creatively and innovatively to create a featured information environment.
Messagge
Supporting the educational process in order to serve its users and achieve excellence and quality in the academic field and in providing information necessary to meet the current and future needs of faculty members: teachers, students, and researchers in order to achieve the distinguished level sought by the colleges in the female departments.
Goals:
- Organizing information resources, indexing and classification
- Providing various library and information services to the users, such as the return service and periodicals
- References, photographs, guidance, training, ongoing briefing services, selective offer of information, in addition to a computerized information retrieval service, which supports educational process and scientific researches.
1- Training users on how to properly use library and its various resources and services through the appropriate guidance and teaching programs and implementation of them, and providing them with the practical and necessary skills and experiences.
Using the library and its various resources effectively.
2-Introducing the students to the international classification systems with a focus on the decimal system and its use in organizing the college library collections
3- Introducing the student to the recent developments in librarianship and information science.
