Develop the annual work plan for the unit in accordance with the requirements of the Academic Advising Department at the university.
Receiving and welcoming new students on the first day of study and explaining to them about the college and university system and the university environment.
Raising awareness among college students of the importance of unity and its role in helping them to conduct their university studies in a good manner, and encouraging them to resort to the academic advisor to help solve the difficulties they encounter.
Students are divided among the counselors in a balanced manner so that the percentage of defaulting and new students is close to all academic counselors in the male and female departments.
Develop indicative plans (stumbling - the deprived - omission and postponement - ... etc.).
Coordination with the Deanship of Admission and Registration regarding students’ academic data, registration matters, quotas, and others for students with special academic conditions that require assistance, within the framework of what is permitted by the university’s study regulations and rules.
Providing advisory and training services to college students on an ongoing basis; In order to make them aware of the academic difficulties and study skills that they may face, and to provide them with skills that raise their academic achievement and achieve their personal and psychological compatibility with studying at the college.
Establishing indicative programs and events, such as:
- - Reception of new students.
  - Preparing brochures and guidance publications such as posters, brochures and academic guidance bulletin for all faculty members, students and professors.
  - Ceremonies honoring outstanding college students.
  - Distribute academic guidance booklets to students and academic advisors.
  - Holding training workshops to introduce the electronic praise and the ordering services provided by the college and university.

General supervision of academic advisors and follow-up of cases brought to it.
Receiving cases sent to it by academic advisors and so
Preparing quarterly and annual reports on the unit's activities.
